Charming Hello

Here we are again with another amazing sketch from the As You See It Challenge Blog. I had a couple items left over from some play time in my craft room, so I thought I would use them for this challenge. I started with a scrap of Watercolor Paper which I covered with water using my Aqua Painter, then painted some Sweet Sugarplum ink on the lower portion of the paper. Because the surface of the paper was wet, the colour bled beautifully, creating a smokey ombré effect. The café chairs image from the Charming Café stamp set was stamped with Tuxedo Black Momento ink, then coloured with the Stampin’ Blends and die cut using the Café Builder Thinlits and my Big Shot. The heart behind the chairs was cut using the Lots to Love Framelits dies. I stamped the café window image on the heart with Crumb Cake ink, then coloured the image lightly with Stampin’ Blends and sponged the edges of the heart with Crumb Cake ink.

The Leaf Punch (carried over from the Holiday Catalogue! Whoohoo!) was used to create the  Sweet Sugarplum leaf that is tucked under the heart. You can also see the Bermuda Bay 3/8″ Mini Chevron Ribbon and the Linen Thread bow that embellish the card. Before adhering all these pieces to the card, I stamped some hearts from the Tabs for Everything stamp set with Pool Party ink. I then added some Sweet Sugarplum and Bermuda Bay ink spatters by tapping a wet and inky Aqua Painter on my finger over the paper.

Fun Fun Fun!

Gold Glitter Flakes came next. I simply adhered a few to the paper with a tiny drop of Tombow Multipurpose Liquid Glue.

I had a little chuckle when I opened my package of gold glitter flakes and wondered what exactly I was being protected from? Will the flakes jump out when I remove the seal? Should I put on protective eye wear? Are they contagious flakes? I’m glad they were sealed for my protection so I would not get any flake diseases! LOL!

I used a piece of the Petal Garden Designer Series Paper to cover the front of the card base before assembling the rest of the card. The final element applied was the “hello” sentiment from the Tabs for Everything Stamp set which was stamped in Bermuda Bay ink.
