Batter Up Paper Pumpkin

Yesterday, on my Facebook Live, I opened and assembled the May Paper Pumpkin Kit – Batter Up. Even with the obvious baseball theme, this kit can help you celebrate the best of the best, the greatest of all time and the all-stars in your life! I’ve added the video to the end of this post for you, in case you aren’t on Facebook.

The kit has all the supplies to make 9 cards, 3 of each design, and it even had 3 pieces of Double Bubble gum! Of course, I had to try out the gum and see if I could blow a bubble. I wasn’t disappointed!

If you’re in Canada, you can start your Paper Pumpkin subscription with me by clicking HERE. Next months kit looks like it’s going to be gorgeous! Sign up before June 10th so that you won’t miss it. Look at the beautiful box in the sneak peek photo!

I can only imagine if the box is THAT beautiful, what the 9 cards will be like! My intel tells me that there will also be not one, but TWO ink spots in this kit! Can’t wait!!

You can watch the unboxing and the assembly of the three different card designs in the video below. Next week, I’ll be sharing alternative cards using the kit. Why not join me for my Facebook Live on Monday at 10:30am (pacific time). I love having the opportunity to interact with you through the chat and comments while I share my projects.

Watermelon Juice

I have another card design to share with you that I made using some of the supplies in the April Paper Pumpkin kit – So Cool. This one involves a watercolour wash with Poppy Parade ink on Shimmery White cardstock.

While the watercolour ink was still wet, I sprinkled on some pickling salt, resulting in that spotty background effect. Once the ink was dry, I die-cut the Shimmery White cardstock with the Stitched So Sweetly die (I’m really into that particular die lately). I used the “spotty” stamp in the kit to add some Tuxedo Black ink spots to the background, then added the slice of watermelon, which I had sponged on the edges with Basic Gray ink.

The sentiment is also from the kit. I stamped it on Basic Black cardstock with Versamark ink and heat set some White Embossing powder with my Heat Tool before using a circle punch and adhering it with Stampin’ Dimensionals to the card.

So Cool Alternatives

The sun is shining here in the beautiful Okanagan Valley in my little piece of Canada. I could almost imagine that it’s summer. My son mowed the lawn for the first time this year and it’s amazing how much better my yard looks when the grass is freshly cut. It’s the big thing that makes the yard look so much tidier – similar to how making your bed can make the whole bedroom look cleaner!

The April 2021 Paper Pumpkin kit definitely has that summery feel with images of watermelons and popsicles. I have a couple of alternative projects to share with you today using some of the supplies in the kit.

I used the Stitched So Sweetly dies to cut a scallop stitched rectangle from Basic Black cardstock for this card. The watermelon was coloured with Flirty Flamingo and Granny Apple Green Stampin’ Blends Markers.

The second design is a slimline card in Granny Apple Green cardstock. I did some fancy ink blending with my Blending Brush for the background along with the added texture of an embossed outline using my Simply Scored Tool. See the little Clear Epoxy embellishments? They’re hiding an unsightly smudge and are not even available to customers until the new catalogue goes live on May 4th.

If you’re in Canada, you can sign up with me to receive your monthly Paper Pumpkin kit and have your own personal creative escape to enjoy each month.
